At Sweet Violet, we offer an experience in co-creating your wardrobe that you won't find anywhere else. Every garment is crafted exclusively on demand — individually cut, constructed and finished in our American atelier after your order is placed.
This made-to-order process allows for careful attention to detail, a couture level of craftsmanship and a wide range of customization options.
As of Summer 2026, our studio offers a range of made-to-order skirts in customizable lengths, with new styles and fabrics added each day. Behind the scenes, we are working on fully customizable dresses — your choice of silhouette, neckline and sleeve style. To be notified when dresses launch, add your name to the list.

Sweet Violet was founded on the conviction that true luxury is found in the absence of compromise. Kate Ryan leads the studio's design practice — overseeing every silhouette, material selection, and construction decision from inception to completion.
A garment is only as exceptional as its foundation.
Each piece passes through a process of considered choices: the weight of a fabric, the fall of a hem, the integrity of a seam. Nothing at Sweet Violet is accidental.

About the process
Commissioned one at a time.
Each Sweet Violet piece is made to order — never held in inventory, never produced in advance. From your initial selections through final construction, the process is deliberate and without shortcuts.
Selection
Choose your silhouette, fabric, and length. Each piece is built to your specifications — a process of considered decisions rather than defaults.
Cutting
Your fabric is cut to pattern in our Richmond studio. We prioritize natural fibers wherever possible — selected for their superior hand-feel and longevity.
Construction & finishing
The garment is assembled and finished by our studio — including the signature hand-finished bespoke hem, completed to your preferred length.

You can tell this is high-end the second you put it on. The fabric has a nice structure but moves really well. I was worried it might look bulky, but the waistband sits perfectly flat and it’s very slimming through the hips. It’s hard to find simple pieces made this well anymore. Very happy with this purchase.
It is hard to find a rayon skirt and I loved the floral print. I bought it for a trip to Europe and it was so comfortable, although I did need to iron it a lot. It was super soft and flowy.
Bought the pink one to wear to a wedding. The size 10 was a tiny big but I am in between sizes. The fabric has a bit more of a shine than you can see in the photos, which made it more dressy. Highly recommended.
I bought the navy and it’s a dark midnight blue. Exactly what I was looking for. Simple, classic and feels like it’ll last a long time.

Such a gorgeous fit. It’s definitely on the longer side, I probably should have got it shortened but looks amazing with high heels. I actually picked up a cream silk top to go with it and the whole look is perfect. True to size, the navy is a great classic color.
The quality is on another level compared to anything store-bought. I'm 5'3" and normally wear size 6, the 6 fit me just right. I got custom length and it looks great. Worth every penny.

It's a nice thick wool fabric that will keep me warm in my cold climate. I ordered a size 2, length 38”. It is a little snug but I wanted it to fit that way. For reference I'm 5'2” 115 lbs. I would order the skirt again... oh wait, this is my second time ordering. The first one was for my mom 🥰
